- Additional Information: Buchanan’s DeLuxe 12 Blended Scotch is a superbly crafted, long-time favorite blend with a high malt content, and a refined pedigree that makes it a sure-bet anytime Scotch. Slightly sweet-ish, with overarching notes of caramel and toffee, and hints of leather and sherry aging.
REVIEW:
- Rating: 4
- Nose: English toffee and almonds lead the way, with bright citrus, clean cereal, trailed by whisps of sherry, leather, and cold-campfire.
- Palate: Soft and light-bodied, there is a moderate sweetness that emphasizes the caramel, honey, hazelnut, and candied-orange. Adding a touch of water emphasizes the orange, phenols, and grain whisky, all in a good way.
- Finish: Black pepper and bitter dark cocoa balances the sweet, followed by black tea, and finally distant hints of leather and smoke.
